Thoughtful choices, wherever we can make them.

One of the things that drew us to cordless lighting in the first place was how much simpler it could be.

When we moved house, adding traditional wall lights in some of the places we wanted them would have meant calling an electrician, chasing cables into walls, making good the plaster and, in some cases, decorating all over again. A lovely light can transform a room — but we didn’t think creating that atmosphere should always involve quite so much disruption.

Rechargeable and cordless lighting offers another option. It lets you add light where you need it without unnecessary building work, and it can move with you as rooms, furniture and everyday life change.

We’re a young business, and we don’t pretend to have sustainability perfectly figured out. But we do want to make thoughtful choices wherever we can.

That means looking for lighting that is rechargeable and reusable, favouring durable materials and replaceable shades where possible, and avoiding disposable batteries across our core rechargeable range.

Our solar lanterns make use of daylight to create a warm glow after dark, while rechargeable lamps and wall lights can be charged and used again and again — without permanently wiring them into one particular spot.

We also want the pieces we choose to feel worth keeping. Lighting should earn its place in your home, not be something you replace simply because fashions change.

As Noctura grows, we’ll continue to look for better materials, less unnecessary packaging, longer-lasting components and suppliers who share the same approach.
